Bird paintings by Caroline Mayer. Opening reception 5 to 9 p.m. June 1, artist talk 7 to 8 p.m. June 20 and closing reception 1 to 4 p.m. June 30.

Mayer, bird lover and Baker Park regular, delves into the beautiful birds of the Frederick area and muses on two things: how do birds perceive their world, and how does she perceives the birds themselves. This unusual representation of birds is a departure from reality — although the birds are realistically depicted. Their energies, songs, and movements are represented visually, and this encourages us to consider nature in a new way.
