"Luminaire: An Exhibition of Light ... in the Dark"
–
The Griffin Art Center, Side Gallery
Free
A "luminary" is defined as an object or person that gives off light. Fire and light are traditional symbols of celebrations held on the darkest day of the year — the Winter Solstice (Dec. 21). Viewings are by appointment only.
For 2 months, in order to memorialize what many consider one of the darkest years of our time, and to remind everyone of a possible brighter future and the "light," or hope, within all of us, a group of artists have created a variety of works that emit light in a pitch black exhibition space.Â
VIEWINGS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, due to Covid considerations. To schedule an appointment, please visit http://www.luminaireartexhibition.com
