Geraldine Lloyd, 55-year Frederick resident, will be exhibiting 30 years of “art while recovering” in a solo exhibit titled “Recovering Out Loud” from Sept. 7 to Oct. 2 . Hours: M-Th 9-9 Fri/Sat 9-5. The exhibit will open with a reception on September 7, from 5-7 p.m.
Lloyd’s recoveries from cancer and various addictions through art, writing, and activism are widely expressed in her upcoming visual narrative of recovery in all its implications.
She has sold art internationally, exhibited at The American Visionary Art Museum, as well as multiple venues in Maryland and Key West, Fla., and as a cancer survivor, laryngectomee and activist, her documentary “Dreamstealers”, is distributed nationwide as a personal testimony about the tragic consequences of substance abuse.
Lloyd is also featured in the film “Automorphosis” by Harrod Blank, a documentary currently on Amazon.com.
With her unique electronic voice, she offers a unique and insightful visual testimony in “Recovering Out Loud” to the power of creativity when utilized for healing.
