Delegate Patrick Hogan

Delegate Patrick Hogan, R-Frederick

Maryland Delegate Patrick Hogan today announced he will not be running for re-election to represent the areas in and around the city of Frederick.

"I never intended to make a career out of elected service and now it is time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life," Hogan, a Republican, said in the press release.

In this morning's announcement, the two-term delegate from District 3A said his decision allows him to focus on serving in the state legislature without the distraction of campaigning.

Hogan's term in the Maryland General Assembly expires at the end of 2014.
