There’s a new beginning upon us! Well maybe not, but “A New Beginning” is the meaning behind The Fool tarot card, and Tarot is the theme behind the annual 72 Film Fest.

The time-based film competition continues this year when teams from around the area (and even states across the country) will make a movie within 72 hours. Hundreds of screen artists will assemble into dozens of teams and go into a weekend with little more than a few hopes, dreams and a blank page, and come out with a finished short film. Every entry premieres the following weekend at the historic Weinberg Center, where awards and prizes are given out to those entries that excel in acting, writing, cinematography and costumes.

There are talented people right in our back yard, and 72 Film Fest strives to share that talent with the world. Students, amateurs and professional filmmakers alike are invited to participate.
