Christmas came early a couple weeks ago when Hagerstown singer Flo Petite surprised-released a brand new song — and it even has holiday undertones to boot.

One of the most interesting artists found in a 30-mile radius, Petite has a voice made to harmonize with angels, and that’s precisely what makes “Easy Love” such a quick, satisfying listen.

Well, that, and the decision to put down her six-string indie rock flair in favor of a piano ballad that combines synth textures with good, old-fashioned stadium-rock that’s ultimately tailor-made to be performed as an encore in front of 20,000 people. It’s almost like The Killers met Harry Styles and formed Lana Del Rey’s backing band.

The result is holiday bliss, proof positive that sometimes the best gifts can come in simple little two-minute packages. A holiday treat, indeed.
