Garrett Posey, of Myersville, was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

The following area students were awarded bachelor’s degrees during commencement ceremonies at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania: Madison Airey, of New Market and a graduate of Linganore High School, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in exercise science. Alexander Bloch, of Mount Airy and a graduate of South Carroll High School, graduated summa cum laude with a degree in exercise science. And William Kubistal, of Mount Airy and a graduate of Saint John’s Catholic Prep, earned a degree in business administration and economics.

Michele Bradshaw, of Frederick, received a Master of Science in Nursing in May from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Wesley Dang and Noel Mendiola, both of Frederick, made the dean’s list for the spring semester at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia.

Cameron Baumgardner, of Emmitsburg; Myah Davies, of New Market; and Marykate Geppert, of Jefferson, were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

Katelyn Lamison, of Brunswick; Adan Maher, of Frederick; and Stone Sinnett, of New Market, were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Jani Pierre, of Frederick, a student at McDaniel College, in Westminster, performed with the Gospel Choir in its recent virtual concert.

Among the students named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Bloomsburg University, in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, were local students Taylor Beckley, from Thurmont; Kathleen Halley, of Frederick; Adam Hurry, of Mount Airy; and Hudson Smith, from Monrovia.

Marin Sheehy and Sarah Wilhite, both of Frederick, and Sydney Katz, of New Market, made the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Wisconsin).

Nelson Nichols, of Poolesville, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and classical civilization on May 23 from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Nichols also made the dean’s list.

Anna Myers, of Frederick, graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in sustainability science from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Also, Mikayla Miley, of Woodsboro, graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Grace Bowman, of New Windsor and a graduate of Linganore High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.

Eva James, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, was named to the president’s list for the spring semester at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Xavier Lovejoy, of Frederick, made the president’s list for the spring semester at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

The following area students made the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania: Graycen Scott, of Boonsboro; Benjamin Leavitt, of Woodbine; Bruno Mochi and Madison Airey, of New Market; Nicholas Coyne, of Middletown; Victoria McClain, of Smithsburg; Molly Faron, of Myersville; Corinne Kearney, Ryan Oden, Sarah Trail, Alexander Bloch and Brayden Fugini, of Mount Airy; and Rachel Gibson and Cameron Lauer, of Frederick.
