Community dance for people of all abilities
Calvary Lutheran Church, 16151 Old Frederick Road, Mount Airy, will host a community dance for people of all abilities from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. DJ music and light refreshments. A parent/caregiver information session will also take place to address DDA and Medicaid Services, provided by a representative of Optimal Health Care Inc. Admission to the dance is $5 person. Huge book sale
The 21st annual All Saints’ book sale will be held July 25 to 28 in the Parish Hall, second floor, 23 N. Court St., Frederick, use the Court Street entrance for regular access; handicapped access is through the Memorial Garden entrance at 106 W. Church St. Approximately 15,000 books will be sorted by categories and sold along with DVDs, CDs and other media. For a list of collectible books, visit www.allsaintsmd.org/booksale. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday when books are half-price, and 1 to 3 p.m. July 28 for the $5 bag sale. Summers reunion to be held July 28
The descendants of Phillip W. and Margaret A.M. Summers will hold their 77th annual reunion on July 28 at the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department hall in Libertytown. A buffet lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Each family is asked to bring a meat and a salad or dessert, beverage and place setting. Flook reunion to be held in Middletown
The descendants of the late Philip and Elizabeth Flook will hold their 59th annual reunion July 28 at Middletown Park, Shelter No. 1. Lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m. Place settings will be provided. Bring a dish to share for every two people. Adult and children’s games will be held and the “always popular” snow cones will be available.
