Members of the Jenkin Davis Family celebrated their 80th reunion on Sept. 15 at the Green Valley United Methodist Church in Ijamsville.
Thomas Whelan, president, called the meeting to order. Historian Michael Warner gave an update on deaths. There were no births or marriages announced. Mark Jeffers gave the treasurer’s report.
Warner noted that the Davis Family website has been updated and is now hosted on github. The URL is jenkindavisfamily.com. He also spoke about how the American Revolution touched the Davis family.
Prizes were given for the family’s traditional games and honors, and Whelan issued several special awards in recognition of service to the family reunion: Mark Jeffers, treasurer and financial adviser for many years; Mike Warner, long-time historian, and his father, Pat, also a family historian; and Nancy Winchester, present secretary and a past president/past secretary for several years.
In attendance were Fran Davis; Mark and Betty Jeffers; Leslie Jeffers; Teresa Jeffers; Helen and Ralph Mazzuca; Mike Nasser; Gene Salvo; Jean and Millard Smith; Kathleen Stecklein; Albert Stecklein III; Mike and Dorothy Warner; Steve Warner; Tom Whelan; and Nancy Winchester.
The 81st Davis family reunion will take place on the third Sunday of September (Sept. 20, 2020).
