Descendants of the late George Wilson and Elizabeth Crawford Montgomery met for a picnic lunch at Braddock Heights Community Park on June 9. Scott Montgomery, president, welcomed all and Nicole Montgomery led the blessing. The family meal included grilled food by Jody Koogle, side dishes and desserts.
Family news and business included the announcement by Francis Cecil of six family deaths and four births in 2018-2019, which will be included in the Montgomery History Book. It was voted to make a $200 donation to Hayden’s Heroes to help with research for histiocytosis, a rare blood disease that took the life of 7-year-old Hayden Boerum, son of Melissa Golden and Michael Boerum. Singy Golden was elected vice president and continuing for 2019-2020 will be Andrew Montgomery, president; Trisha Montgomery, secretary; Jody Koogle, treasurer; and Nicole Montgomery, games.
There were games for all ages including a competitive round of Battle of the Sexes Trivia. The women edged out the men 10 to 8. Jake Montgomery, 8, provided two correct answers for the men’s team. The next reunion will be at 1 p.m. June 14, 2020.
