Book on FSK Post 11 history presented to Maryland Room

Francis Scott Key Post 11, the American Legion, was chartered on July 19, 1919. To celebrate the 10 decades of service to veterans, veteran families and Frederick County, the history of Post 11 was compiled and published. As part of the celebration of their Centennial on July 19, 2019, copies were presented to organizations that preserve the history of and promote Frederick County. The Maryland Room at C. Burr Artz Library provided assistance with access to historical documents during the six years of research for the 100-year history of Post 11. Pictured during the presentation of the hard cover and soft cover book are, from left, Centennial Commander David Swiderski, 101st Commander of Post 11; Carolyn Magura, Maryland Room Library Specialist; Mary Mannix, Maryland Room manager;and 100 year Post history chair Richard L. “Rick” Stup, 63rd Post Commander, 1981-82.
