BPOE Frederick Lodge 684 honors middle school students for community service

Frederick County middle school students were recently recognized for community service at an awards ceremony hosted by the Frederick Elks Lodge 684. The awards are part of the BPOE’s annual Youth Appreciation Week.

As part of the BPOE Annual Youth Appreciation Week, Frederick Lodge 684 recently honored middle school students from Frederick County for their meritorious community service. The Elks set aside the first week in May each year to honor youth and each of the nearly 2,000 Lodges hold appropriate ceremonies.

Local recipients and the school they attend:

Monocacy Middle — John Black, Cristan Castillo and Nariah Pirtle.

Brunswick Middle — Jordyn Keller, Ariel Narayan and Madison Yablon.

Crestwood Middle — Nathaniel El-Taher, Alex El-Taher and Nathan James.

Middletown Middle — Olivia Morehouse, Calina Nair and Devarajan Palaniappan.

New Market Middle — Shannon Walker, Sierra Rossman and Kylee Rutledge.

Walkersville Middle — Lukas Hoffman, Maggie Molnar and Jenny Swain.

Ballenger Creek Middle — Sydney Edelen, Arib Chowdhhury and Nana Intsiful.

Thurmont Middle — Josie Kaas, Summer Clausen and Paige Baker.

Urbana Middle — Janeth Quinteros, Dalena Bryant and Evelyn Bryant.

West Frederick Middle — Zoe Carnegis, Jolie Li and Jack Filburn.

Windsor Knolls Middle — Abigail Beckman, Amanda Guettler and Grace Coccagna.

Oakdale Middle — Lauren Banks, Manasi Agisgekar and Spencer Buckwalter.

Gov. Thomas Johnson Middle — Emma Hall, Parker Wyttenbach and Jade Smith.

Each student’s achievments in community service were read by Exalted Ruler Jack Boehmer and they were presented with their certificates by Esteemed Loyal Knight Jim Few, Lodge youth activities chairman.
