The Frederick Bridge Club hosts a variety of duplicate bridge games. All players are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. The club offers beginner and intermediate games (0-499 master points) on Monday afternoons. On Thursday and Friday afternoons there are, usually, games for players of all experience levels. These games take place at the Frederick Moose Lodge, 828 E. Patrick St., Frederick. Monday and Thursday games start at 12:30 p.m. Friday game starts at noon. An additional Open game for players of all experience levels is held at 6:45 p.m. every Monday evening at Citizens Nursing Home, 1920 Rosemont Ave., Frederick. There is also an Open Team Game at the Moose on the first and third Sundays of each month beginning at 1 p.m., assuming sufficient teams register. Learn to play duplicate bridge by joining the beginner bridge classes on Mondays in June and July. Contact Catherine Alspaugh at for more information. A series of intermediate classes by Dick Taylor take place at the Moose Lodge on some Thursdays at 11:15 a.m. The next class on July 11 is on Responses to Takeout Doubles.

There were nine table June 10th for the 499er game. First through third places North/South were earned by Bill Griever and Lorraine Nicklas, Dede Daniels and Adele Tubbs, and Diana Roberts and Janice Tucker. First through third places East/West were earned by Ernie Heller and Pete Storm, John Sivinski and El Cooper, and Jane and Sven Engblom. Other players to place and earn ACBL masterpoints were Julie Blair and Lynn Marqess, Manny Greber and Laura Scherzer, and Kathy Hundley and Ellen Ristorcelli.

There were five tables in the STAC game on June 10 at Citizens. First through fourth places were earned by Dave Hall and Wesley Wu, Ron Clawson and Debbie Kiser, John Blodgett and Sam Keiter, and Melva Urban and MaryAnn Simmons.
