The Frederick Bridge Club hosts a variety of duplicate bridge games. All players are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. The club offers beginner/intermediate games (0-499 master points) on Monday afternoons beginning promptly at 12:30. On Thursdays the club offers both a beginner/intermediate (0-499) and an Open game for players of all experience levels. These games begin at 12:30 p.m. and take place at the Frederick Moose Lodge, 828 East Patrick St., Frederick. An additional Open game for players of all experience levels is held at 6:45 p.m. every Monday at Citizens Nursing Home, 1920 Rosemont Ave., Frederick. There is also an Open Team Game at the Moose on the first and third Sundays of each month beginning at 1 p.m., assuming sufficient teams register. The Frederick Bridge Club is offering beginner bridge classes on select topics of defense at the table. The next class will be March 25. These classes will benefit all beginner bridge players. The cost is $7 per class. Please contact Catherine Alspaugh at mcalspaugh@comcast.net.

There were 10 1/2 tables on March 4 for the 499er Charity Club Championship. Ernie Heller and Guy Whidden earned first place overall and North/South. Janice Tucker and Diana Roberts earned second place overall and North/South. Bruce Glatt and Garrett Isacco earned third place overall and first in B North/South. Dede Daniels and Adele Tubbs were fourth in A overall. Also in North/South, John Sivinksi and El Cooper were second in B and Mike and Carol Stockhausen were first in C. In A, B and C East/West, Stephanie East and Bill Griever were first in A; Steve Olsen and Penny Jaycocks were second in A and first in B and C; Karol McIntosh and Gini Madine were third in A and second in B; and Catherine Alspaugh and Cathie Deadrick were fourth in A and third in B.

There were five tables in the Open Charity Club Championship the evening of March 4 at Citizens Nursing Home. Robert Freed and Emma Eaton earned first place; Ron Clawson and Deborah Kiser were second in A; and Karol McIntosh and Ben Colvard were third in A and second in B. John Blodgett and Woody Weaver tied for fourth and fifth with Rhea Diamond and Willa Garner.

There were four tables in the Open Club Masterpoint game on March 7 at the Frederick Moose. Catherine Alspaugh and Lois Taylor earned first place in A; Richard Taylor and Candy Greenway were second in A; and Dave Hall and Ben Colvard were third in A and first in B and C. Fred Wynn and Rhea Diamond were second in B and C.

There were nine tables in the 499er Club Masterpoint Game at the Moose on March 7. Dede Daniels and Adele Tubbs were first in A North/South; and Bruce Glatt and Garrett Isacco were second in A and first in B North/South. Victor Hingley and Michael Zimmerman were third in A, second in B and first in C North/South. Judith Haines and Penny Haycock were fourth in A North/South and third in C overall. Stephanie East and Bill Griever were first in A East/West; John Sivinksi and El Cooper were second in A and first in B; Malcolm and Daisy Ewell were third in A, second in B and first in C East/West. Also in East/West, Leslie Futrell and Pat Harrigan were third in B and Bart and Diane Kinlein were second in C.
