The Frederick Bridge Club hosts a variety of duplicate bridge games. All players are welcome, regardless of experience or ability. If you would like to have fun, meet new people and improve your bridge game, the club offers beginner and intermediate games (0-499 master points) on Monday afternoons. On Thursday, the club offers both a beginner and intermediate (0-499) and an Open game for players of all experience levels. These games begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. at the Frederick Moose Lodge, 828 E. Patrick St., Frederick. An additional Open game for players of all experience levels is held at 6:45 p.m. every Monday at Citizens Nursing Home, 1920 Rosemont Ave., Frederick. There is also an Open Team Game at the Moose on the first and third Sundays of each month beginning at 1 p.m., assuming sufficient teams register. The club also offers a series of classes by Dick Taylor at the Moose Lodge on some Thursdays at 11:15 a.m. The May 23 lass covers Losing Trick Count.

Six teams competed in the team game on May 5 at the Frederick Moose. First place was earned by Emma Eaton with Lynn Boardman, Kathleen Goss and Lowell Phillips. Second place was earned by Elaine Rowe with Barbara Beard, and Lewis Maddock, and Ruth Maddock. Third place was earned by Ann Lebherz with Robert Robey, Dave Hall and James Cartlidge. Other teams to score and earn ACBL masterpoints were Robert Back with Earle Davis, Jeffrey Stead and Madeline Davis, and Marie Sullivan with Jean Phillips, Leslie Futrell and Garrett Isacco.

There were 10½ tables on May 6 for the 499er game. First, second and third places North/South were earned by Bill Griever and Lorraine Nicklas, Pete Storm and Ernie Heller, and Karol McIntosh and Gini Madine. First, second and third places East/West were earned by Diana Roberts and Janice Tucker, Patricia Stuehler and Ed Krest, and Nancy Ahr and Carole Kirby. Other players who placed to earn ACBL Masterpoints were Jerry Coates and Frank DuVal, Catherine Alspaugh and Abbas Hendi, and Mark Grobaker and Gary Grobaker.

There were 4½ tables in the Sectional Club Tournament game on May 6 at Citizens. Emma Eaton and Robert Freed tied with Scott Lilly and Marie Sullivan for first and second place. Third and fourth places were earned by Dave Bort with James Cartlidge and Karol McIntosh with Ben Colvard.

There were 12½ tables in the Sectional Club Tournament on May 9 at the Frederick Moose. First through third places North/South were earned by Dave Vendittis and El Cooper, Dave Bort and John Blodgett, and Janice Tucker and Diana Roberts. First through third places East/West were earned by Ron Clauson and Greg Bright, Karol McIntosh and Steve Salitrik, and Anna and Lucian Winegar. Other players to place and earn ACBL masterpoints were Pete Storm and DeDeDaniels, Ann Lebherz and Linda Cranston, Sven and Jane Engblom, Pat Stuehler and Ed Krest, and Dave Hall and Gary Grobaker.
