Earns God and Family Award

Ben Cronkite, right, recently received his God and Family Religious Emblem Award through PRAY (Program of Religious Activities of Youth) and the Frederick Church of the Brethren. Ben is in the fifth grade and an Arrow of Light at Cub Scout Pack 277 in Brunswick. He is the son of Sam and Megan Cronkite, of Frederick, and a member in Frederick Church of the Brethren’s children’s ministry. The Boy Scouts of America organization recognizes PRAY and their award series as a way to meet the Duty to God requirement for Protestant Scouts. Each year boys must complete a Duty to God requirement to make rank. The BSA also allows boys who complete the religious emblem to wear a BSA-issued purple knot. Ben received his award from Pastor Sandi Evans Rogers, left, associate pastor for Christian formation at the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
