The dinner honors the dedication and accomplishments of the teachers, staff and administration at Mother Seton School, St. John Regional Catholic School, St. Thomas More Academy and Saint John’s Catholic Prep. According to their mission statement, Friends of Catholic Education is “dedicated to providing a Catholic school education in Frederick County for all who seek it.” Established in 1989, this is their 31st anniversary and during that time, they have provided more than $5 million in financial assistance to Catholic schools and students in the county through scholarships, tuition assistance grants, capital improvement grants and tuition credits through their Grocery Card Program.

Karen Murphy, the associate superintendent for Catholic schools at the Archdiocese of Baltimore, gave an inspirational keynote address to the 200-plus guests from the county’s Catholic schools, as well as clergy, board of trustees and advisory board members, benefactors and guests.
