Lions discuss New Myersville Library
The long-awaited new Myersville Library is open. Marian Currens, Branch administrator for the library, and Coleen Daniels, president of the Friends of the Library, recently spoke to the Myersville Lions Club. Daniels stated that her group was organized three years ago to raise funds for the new facility. They are now hoping to raise funds for the summer reading program and will to continue to raise funds for extra programs and offer a yearly membership in the organization for $25. Included in the library is the refurbished trolley car #150. In the past, the trolley was an important part of life in the valley furnishing a mode of transportation. This car was owned by the late Donald Easterday. It will be used on special occasions for meetings and other events.
