Thurmont Lions Club makes donation to mobile screening unit

Lions Club makes donation

On June 15, the Thurmont Lions Club held a pit sandwich sale at Bell Hill to support the mobile screening van. The sale made a profit of $2,520.07. At the club’s meeting on June 26, a check was presented by Julie El-Taher, right, past president of the Thurmont Lions, to Past District Governor Brian Cox, left, to support the purchase of the van. The van is a fully self-contained Class C bus body modified to provide five testing stations for conducting health screening activities for pre-school vision screening, adult vision screening, hearing (Eckel medical grade test booth), blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen levels and blood sugar level.
