U.S. Rep. John Delaney, D-6th, will host a workshop on opioid addiction on Monday in response to the record rise in overdose deaths across the state.

The workshop will include a panel discussion by experts from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, the Frederick County Health Department and the Up and Out Foundation, a local nonprofit that assists local residents struggling with addiction.

Other organizations will also attend the workshop to connect residents with resources and advice on handling the epidemic, according to a news release from Delaney's office.

The workshop, which starts at 6 p.m., will be held at Winchester Hall in downtown Frederick.
