Two Virginia men are in custody after the Frederick Police Department encountered a man with a gunshot wound Monday night.

FPD responded to the 2100 block of Old Farm Drive for a firearm discharge at about 8:45 p.m., according to a police news release. A man was taken to an area trauma center for a gunshot wound and is in critical condition, the release reads.

Police said the victim was at the initial scene with “several associates” where the shooting was reported, according to the release. Two men allegedly associated with the victim and crime were found and arrested. Police reportedly found evidence of gunfire at the scene and spoke with witnesses.

Shane Lee Williams, 21, of Melfa, faces nine charges, including various handgun violations, online court records indicate. Richard B. Arvidson, 20, of Belle Haven, was charged with illegal possession of ammunition, possessing an assault weapon and having a loaded handgun in a vehicle. Both were being held without bail as of Tuesday evening.

Police believe this was an incident between known associates, and in their release, they said no further information would be released at the time as detectives work to identify other people involved.

FPD asks anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Detective Kyrie Yackovich at 240-549-4450 or KYackovich@FrederickMDPolice.org. Callers may also remain anonymous by contacting FPD’s crime tip line at 301-600-TIPS (8477).

The gang activity is endless, But the Trumpkins promise to “go after the gangs” is not. Such a shame

Where has the Sheriff not gone after the gangs plumbum? The FCSO is part of several gang task forces that include the Frederick City PD, The Maryland State Police, local police, the FBI, and Department of Justice. BTW, the shooting took place in the city. So, I'll ask you again fot the nth time (without an answer), "what does going after the gangs look like to you, plumbum?" Or are you just kvetching again?

Do city voters not engage in county elections?

Think before trying to one-up

Irrelevant plumbum. The FPD has jurisdiction in the City, not the Sheriff, and that's where the incident happened, right? So, if it happened in the City, what had the new Chief not done to "go after the gangs" as you keep whining about? Think before responding, hon. This is just a part of your lame personal vendetta against the Sheriff. What did he bust you or your company for? It must be a doozy since you won't let it go.

Oh, BTW, still no response to my question?

We do vote. But you repeat this particular sentiment even when an article does not specifically reference gangs and even when you apparently know the location falls under another authority. Early diagnosis can be beneficial. I am tempted to add “no offense,” but there is no shame in being proactive on one’s own behalf. Others have asked what your gripe is, due to the frequency of this theme. Maybe it doesn’t seem that often to you?

Oh, and hey plumbum, you might want to read this report from just last year. There's even video if your reading comprehension skills are not up to the task.:

Gang activity has gone down in the last five years according to Charlie Smith and Kirk Henneberry. Guess you missed that. This has been a concerted effort among all Local, State, and Federal law enforcement.

Trumpkins promised to “go after the gangs”. That has yet to happen under the context of his promise. Assisting with a capital area murder case doesn’t count. Sorry.

The gang activity is far worse today.

He shoulda lived up to his promise, then the gang activity wouldn’t be so prevalent. And I wouldn’t have anything to say.

City. County. Doesn’t matter. Makes no difference. Trumpkins made the promise. Trumpkins failed to follow through with the promise. Not me. Not Kelly Q Alzan. Not Plumbum. City. County. He should not have made a promise he couldn’t keep, That’s called a liar.

Donald Trump made and broke promises. And voters remember it. That’s politics. Don’t like it? Well, I’m political. That I am.

LOL!!! OK, plumbum, now that you’ve spun yourself up into a tizzy, will you simply answer my question instead of deflecting? You say that the Sheriff is not meeting his commitment, but cannot state how it’s not being met. Can you see the disconnect there? How has the Sheriff failed? Simple question. You state that the gang activity has increased, but the data cited by both Frederick State’s Attorney Charlie Smith and FPD Lt. Kirk Henneberry in my earlier post says that statement is false. Do you have a reference showing differently? If so, let’s have it. Phy says there is no “gang problem”. Yet you persist. What promise was not kept? What was the “context of his promise”? Expecting NO gang activity in this day and age is not a reasonable expectation. It is desirable, but not reasonable, based on the level of activity in surrounding areas. There is only one liar here, plumbum. You, and you have been repeatedly called on it. Get over your petty, vindictive, personal vendetta over the man and move on with your life.

Could you give me your source of information about “several” gang task forces? I know there was one a few years back that was a Regional Task Force that the FPD and our AG were involved in to target MS13 activity in the Region that the FCSO was not part of. You mention correctly that the FPD deals primarily with gang activity in FC as most is in the City. That’s why I always wondered how our Sheriff became a National Expert on the subject.

Here's one example phy.

Google "Maryland gang task forces" for more.

There have been ad-hoc working groups throughout the past few decades, working with local, state, and Federal offices.

Thank you phy.

It’s sad that some think it’s ok to pledge to the people that you will do something, something important, and then fail to fulfill that pledge / promise.

A promise was made. And made on the On video recording at the frederick cable company. There are MANY retired deputies, corporals, sergeants, and lieutenants, that recall the promise as clearly as I. As well as competing candidates for the position.

Hope everyone is have a great fall thus far!

Nobody is arguing that the pledge was not made, plumbum, so stop deflecting. You continually state that the Sheriff is not fulfilling his pledge, yet you offer no examples where that is not being done. Thus far, yours is nothing but a petty gratuitous assertion. So how about it, Pb. Answer the simple question. What does "going after the gangs" mean to you? If you say he isn't, then there must be something you can cite, right? How long are you going to continue this personal vendetta, making unsubstantiated claims, over, and over, and over...?

I think that Kelly is talking about the Sheriff overstating the Gang “problem” in Frederick County in his anti-Hispanic rhetoric about them being murderers, rapists, robbers, etc. when there is no Gang “problem” in Frederick County.

You are inferring from what she wrote, but she does not state that phy. Her statements, ad nauseum, on the subject are quite clear. Please define what you mean by "no gang problem", phy? How many instances of gang activity constitute a "problem" to you? Go to my 11:50 post and watch what both Charlie Smith and Kirk Henneberry stated to Tasmin Mafuz last year. The rate of gang activity has actually dropped over the last five (now over six) years. So, does a significant drop in gang activity indicate that the programs are not working?

Gabe, Pb is just living up to her reputation for being a liar, a troll, a coward, and a blowhard POS. That's all that her comments represent. Nothing more, nothing less.
