Frederick police were investigating a strong-arm robbery Tuesday afternoon at the CVS Pharmacy on Ballenger Center Drive, according to a department supervisor.
The robbery was reported at 1:43 p.m. when two black men walked into the store, walked to the pharmacy in the rear of the store, went behind the counter and took "an undisclosed amount of narcotics" and fled, said Sgt. Andrew Alcorn, a supervisor with the department's Criminal Investigations Division.
No employees were hurt in the robbery and the men were last seen headed east on I-70 in a white vehicle, Alcorn said.
"Both of them are described as wearing cargo-style black pants with black hoodies, they were both black and described as fairly thin. One was taller than the other, but that's all we have at this point," Alcorn said of the two men.
Detectives were working Tuesday afternoon to get surveillance footage of the crime from the store's video cameras, he said.
Anyone with more information regarding the the robbery was asked to call the Frederick Police Department's anonymous tip line at 301-600-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be sent via text to 240-674-TIPS (8477).
