A Frederick man was indicted on charges of grossly negligent manslaughter by vehicle and child neglect after a single-vehicle crash that killed his 4-year-old son.

The crash occurred at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 2 on Interstate 70 at Bower Avenue in Washington County. The vehicle, driven by Gregory Lee Ehabe, 27, entered the median and struck a concrete culvert, according to a Maryland State Police news release.

Both Ehabe and his son, Everett Ehabe, were taken to Meritus Medical Center before Everett was transferred to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Everett died Dec. 4.

Gregory Ehabe was charged with 10 counts, including homicide by vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Maryland State Police declined to disclose the results of a breath test, or say if one was used.

The Washington County grand jury indicted Ehabe. The arrest warrant was issued Thursday.

Ehabe remained at the Washington County Detention Center on Friday night.
