A Frederick man faces charges of first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment after police said he threw a lamp at a woman and her child on Sunday.
Jajuan Anderson, 19, was arrested after Frederick police were called to a house in the 1400 block of Pinewood Drive. Anderson and the woman, who did not live in the house, had been arguing when he grabbed a metal lamp and struck her with it while she was holding her baby, according to documents filed in Frederick County District Court. The woman was struck in the face and the baby was hit on the side of the head, the documents stated.
Anderson was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. He was released later that day on a written promise to appear in court and will remain on pretrial supervision. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 31.
