A Frederick man faces charges of assault and armed robbery after police said he threatened a woman with a knife on Nov. 19.
According to court documents filed in Frederick County District Court, a woman told police that she had locked herself in a bedroom while arguing with Richard Kline, 50, about money. She said Kline had been drinking and used a knife to unlock the door, held the knife to her throat and demanded money from her to buy alcohol, according to the documents.
A warrant was issued for his arrest that night.
Kline was arrested Wednesday and taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for a medical evaluation before being taken to jail, according to court documents. Kline was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, intoxicated endangerment, false imprisonment, robbery and armed robbery.
A bail review hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
