A Frederick man was facing assault charges after county sheriff’s deputies said he attacked a couple when they refused to give him a cigarette, repeatedly stomping on the woman’s head.

Sean Christopher Shifflett, 32, was charged with first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault, according to charging documents filed in Frederick County District Court.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 7000 block of Hames Court at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, according to charging documents.

Shifflett, the documents said, entered the couple’s bedroom to ask for a cigarette but, because it was so early, a man told Shifflett to leave them alone. Shifflett then attacked the couple, striking the man on the side of the head, throwing the woman to the floor and stomping on the back of her head about 10 times, the documents continued.

Shifflett was arrested a short time later as he was walking on Crestwood Boulevard near Fellingwood Drive, the documents state.

Shifflett remained held without bail in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center after a bail review hearing Monday in county district court. Judge Earl W. Bartgis Jr. indicated the court might reconsider Shifflett’s bail conditions pending his access to mental health treatment.

Entered their bedroom?? Did he live there? If not, business end of a gun enters my mind

Another man who needs to be removed from society until he is old and grey and less of a danger. It really does not matter why, he is a danger to others as long as he is free, so lock him into prison and keep him there until he is not dangerous.

give him a trial and then lock him up for some time and stop the nonsense about his medical condition.

Baaaaad houseguest.
