Police arrested a Frederick man for allegedly attacking two men with a baseball bat and stabbing them with broken glass Wednesday.

Aaron William Alston Abrecht, 30, is being held without bail for two counts each of felony assault and second-degree assault, online court records show.

Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to an apartment at 90 Waverley Drive some time Wednesday and reportedly learned Abrecht struck the men with a bat and stabbed and cut them multiple times with broken glass before fleeing, police said in a news release. Police believe this to be an isolated incident between known associates.

Several officers with FPD’s Patrol Division found Abrecht nearby and took him into custody after he allegedly attempted to flee from police. Abrecht was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for an appearance before the District Court Commissioner, according to the news release.

The victims were treated at an area hospital, police said, and are in stable condition.

Abrecht has a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 7. He did not have a defense attorney listed in online court records Thursday afternoon.

It turns out that Mr. Abrecht has a long history of violent behavior, including assault and domestic violence against women dating all the way back to 2012, according to Maryland Judiciary Case Search (35 counts taking up two pages of search results). Why is this guy out of jail on his latest conviction and sentence of 25 years, based on his criminal record? Best wishes to his latest victims for a speedy recovery.

Right? This guy is a violent repeat offender.

Why is this guy walking the streets? https://www.fredericknewspost.com/news/crime_and_justice/cops_and_crime/police-man-tried-to-light-himself-on-fire-after-brutal-assault-of-girlfriend/article_541d9220-dcb6-5ca7-ae6d-b14a595eb9c6.html

Good question since he got 25 years for that incident, with 7 to serve and 18 suspended, He must have made parole, big mistake there.

Frequent flyer. Dangerous human. He needs to go down for a long time.

Maybe he should have a trial before you all sentence him Round up the usual suspects

Jeez, "BigAl", this POS is the usual suspect...the ONLY suspect, and there is no doubt whatsoever that he did it. This POS has a long documented history of violence in general, and violence against women in specific. The trial will be a mere formality given the overwhelming evidence and history. Do you honestly believe that he has a snowballs chance in h*ll of being found not guilty? Get real.
