A Frederick man already registered as a sex offender was arrested late last month after city police said he exposed himself to children and families at a park, according to court documents.
Ronald Wayne Beasley, 61, of the 800 block of Trail Avenue, was approached by officers as he sat under the pavilion at the Third Street Park shortly after they received a call at 5:20 p.m. Sept. 20 about a man exposing himself to people in the park, according to the documents.
Beasley apologized and told the officers he had changed his pants next to the picnic table, saying he realized that he probably should have put his sweatpants on in the restroom. While police were aware that Beasley was a registered sex offender for a previous conviction on two counts of fourth-degree sex offense dating to 2016, he was released from the scene when officers couldn't reach the original caller, according to documents.
When police spoke to the original caller, however, they learned that Beasley had pulled his pants down around his ankles three separate times, exposing his buttocks to the children and families present in the park, the documents state.
A warrant for Beasley's arrest was issued and he was taken into custody Tuesday on three counts of indecent exposure, according to court records. Beasley remained in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center after he was denied bail at a bail review hearing Tuesday afternoon in county district court.
