A West Virginia man was charged with peeping on a girl Saturday in the changing room of a store at Francis Scott Key Mall, according to a county sheriff's office press release.

Daniel Leroy Walter Jr., 29, of Falling Waters, was charged via summons with peeping Tom and visual surveillance with prurient intent, both misdemeanors, according to online court records. The charges stem from a call Frederick County sheriff's deputies responded to at the J.C. Penney on Buckeystown Pike in which a girl noticed someone holding a cellphone under the stall while she was changing, according to an agency press release issued Tuesday.

After the girl told her mother what was happening, the mother and several witnesses watched a man leave the stall next to the girl's. The man left the store and fled in a vehicle before deputies arrived, the release states. Witnesses gave deputies the vehicle's license plate number, which helped to identify Walter as a suspect.

Alert employees for sure. No one noticed a man entering the fitting rooms in the girls section.
