Southbound traffic on U.S. 15 at Motter Avenue was closed for several hours Tuesday after a tanker truck spilled fuel on the road, according to state police.

The spill occurred at about 2 p.m., and the fluid led to two minor crashes involving five vehicles, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Coordinated Highways Action Response Team website. The spill closed all of the southbound lanes on U.S. 15 between Motter and West Seventh Street until about 4:30 p.m.

Two State Highway Administration dump trucks were sent to the area to spread sand on the road at about 3 p.m., according to a state police press release.

Why did the fuel spill from "ftruck"?

Well, this should make traffic a joy today.

Yep. If you have a Dr. appointment on TJ Drive, you may want to reschedule.
