The ABC Junior Show will offer two $1,000 scholarships to any applicant that is a child of a beef producer or is directly engaged themselves in the production or promotion of beef cattle. Applicant must be a member of a local 4-H or FFA state organization; must be currently a senior in high school, or no older than 21 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2019; and enrolled for the fall semester in a two- or four-year college. Applicants major may vary. However, preference will be given to a major in agriculture. Applicant must show beef cattle the June 8 or 9 show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The Frederick County Holstein Association will hold a hot roast beef dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30 at the Johnsville Ruritan Center, 11375 Green Valley Road, Johnsville.
