Catoctin FFA Alumni Livestock Show & Sale for market goat, beef, sheep and swine will be held Sept. 12 at Eyler Stables, managed by Wolfe Agricultural Auction, 141 Emmitsburg Road, Thurmont. Sale will begin with awards to exhibitors at 5:30 p.m., sale begins at 6 p.m. inside Sale Ring Barn. Limited handicapped seating; chair and bleacher seating for others. Beef, Sheep, Swine, and Market Goats will be exhibited by youth in the Catoctin Feeder Area. The slaughter houses used this year are Shriver Meats in Emmitsburg; Shuff Meats Market in Thurmont; and Stoney Point (Nell’s) in Littlestown, Pennsylvania. All animals will be sold by the head this year and not by the pound. The Great Frederick Fair is canceled for September 2020. Plans are underway to host an Invitational Youth Livestock show. Details to be announced later. The concerts, motorsport and carnival (Jack Pass) events that were already on sale are postponed to 2021. The next fair will be held Sept. 17-25, 2021.
