Catoctin Mountain Orchard

Emma Jagoz, an organic farm owner with Moon Valley Farm in Woodsboro, and Robert Black, owner of Catoctin Mountain Orchard, near Thurmont, chat about the rising costs of farm machinery, labor and fuel. Black has ordered a new orchard tractor that he hopes will be delivered in midsummer.

From fertilizer to fuel, packaging to pest control, Robert Black, co-owner of Catoctin Mountain Orchard near Thurmont, said every cost associated with operating his farm increased in 2022.

"I mean it's really the whole gamut of almost everything we do. I don't know anything that's gone down," Black said.

As the Texan Hershel Walker explained, the US cleans the air and sends it to China while China pollutes the air and sends it to the US.
