Auto Clinic International recently moved from 1820 Rosemont Ave to 299 Bucheimer Road in Frederick. Auto Clinic has been in business for almost 10 years.

Awards and Honors

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Frederick was recently honored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Commuter Connections’ program for its incentives, marketing and teleworking programs. AOPA was awarded with two other employers for their “commitment to promoting innovative and sustainable commute alternative programs that help reduce commuting expenses, traffic congestion and auto emissions and improve the quality of life for their employees and the region.”

Michael Henningsen, executive vice president of hotel operations at Plamondon Hospitality Partners, recently was named the Ambassador of the Year by the Maryland Hotel Lodging Association. The award recognizes a member of MHLA whose efforts have contributed to the association’s legislative wins, membership growth and successful events in the past year. Henningsen has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 35 years, with the past 20 years being with Plamondon Hospitality Partners in Frederick.

Kramon & Graham, a law firm providing litigation, real estate and transactional services recently recognized Frederick resident and principal, M. Natalie McSherry, for legal excellence and client service by the 2019 Chambers USA legal ranking guide.

Catoctin Breeze Vineyard in Thurmont recently won the 2019 Maryland Comptroller’s Cup with the 2017 Estate Cabernet Franc. Out of 165 wines from 31 wineries, the Cabernet Franc took top honors in its own style category before being selected as “Best in Show.”

iHire was recently designated as a Great Place to Work-Certified company for 2019. Using employee feedback gathered by Great Place to Work, 94 percent of employees have a consistently positive experience at iHire. Great Place to Work is the “global authority on workplace culture, employee experience and the leadership behaviors proven to deliver market-leading revenue and increased innovation.”

Business Acquisitions

Plamondon Hospitality Partners, a hotel management company headquartered in Frederick, has expanded its hotel management footprint with the acquisition of the Fairfield by Marriott in Cumberland, Md. The hospitality company will retain all of the hotel’s current employees and plans to add a director of sales position to the staff. The Fairfield by Marriott Cumberland will be the eleventh hotel added to the company’s portfolio and the first to be obtained through an acquisition.

If they can buy this one I think they can afford to pay for the hotel they want in Frederick.
