The Frederick County Planning Commission approved a series of plans Wednesday for the Westview South development, clearing the way for the addition of 42 homes and three office/warehouse buildings in the project near Md. 85.

The commission voted unanimously to approve a preliminary subdivision plan and site development plan to add the 42 town houses on a 3-acre site northeast of New Design Road and Executive Way.

The addition of the homes means the overall Westview South project will have 490 units overall, in a mix of detached houses, town houses and condominiums.

The commission also unanimously approved a site plan to build three office/warehouse buildings on 32 acres in Westview South's mixed use area.

One of the buildings will have 64,000 square feet of space, another will have 116,800 square feet, and the third will have 276,100 square feet.

The three buildings will be on the south side of Executive Way, between New Design Road and Buckeystown Pike.

The rezoning that allowed construction of these homes was approved in 2013 by the Board of County Commissioners. What the Planning Commission approved on Wednesday was a site plan for these homes. The development itself was already a done deal. https://www.fredericknewspost.com/news/politics_and_government/wins-favor-for-houses/article_6476f4de-20bb-5c60-a2d8-c217d2dc20f5.html

Growth is inevitable. At least this fits generally with the area and infrastructure.
