A new Subway has opened at 1275 W. Patrick St., on the Golden Mile, with a new concept that offers pizza and pasta.

The new Frederick location opened in mid-March with about 10 employees and is known as a Fresh Forward-style restaurant, according to Brian Fink, business consultant for Subway Development Corp.

The concept includes a more modern look to the restaurant, the first of its kind in Frederick County, Fink said.

The restaurant also includes Mama Deluca’s, a station where customers can order made-to-order pizza, pasta and boneless chicken. Mama Deluca’s is owned by Subway and is offered in about 125 Subway locations nationwide. Fink said the West Patrick Street location is one of the first in Maryland.

“It’s the same Subway entity, just a different concept behind it,” he said. “You can come in and order a pizza just how you would come in and order a sandwich.”
