Bruce Fuselier, owner of PrimeTime Sports Collectibles, has everything from collectible cards and signed gear in his new store off Prospect Boulevard. He recently spoke with The Frederick News-Post to talk more about his business.
What made you want to open a sports memorabilia store in Frederick?
Well, I’ve owned a sports memorabilia store before. I actually just sold mine in Baton Rouge and moved up here.
How did you get into the business? Are you a sports memorabilia collector yourself?
I started collecting when I was young, probably when I was 14. And I started working part time when I was a teenager and then when I was in my early 20s I got into the business full time with my own store and just kept going from there.
What’s your favorite part about owning a sports memorabilia store?
I get to do what I love every day. I enjoy fooling with all of the stuff, meeting the players, following the teams and talking about sports with the customers.
What are some of the more popular items you sell?
The Washington Capitals [memorabilia] are definitely hot, Washington Redskins signed jerseys, signed mini helmets and Baltimore Ravens signed pictures. We also bring guests in here as well.
We actually had two [retired] Capitals players, Peter Bondra and Rod Langway, in here to meet the public and do autograph signings.
Do you have players there often?
We’re going to try to have players here at least twice a year, maybe four times a year. We plan on having on Redskins, some Orioles, Capitals and Ravens.
