The Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute (HCTI) of Frederick Community College was recently awarded $2,000 by Visit Frederick to be used for student scholarships.

Visit Frederick, Frederick County's official visitor guide, won the "Oktoberfest Games" at the city of Frederick's annual Oktoberfest celebration, and was awarded $2,000 to donate to a local nonprofit organization of its choosing.

“The quality of work performed by graduates of the HCTI program will directly impact the impression a visitor has of our area," Melissa Joseph Muntz, marketing and communications manager at Visit Frederick, said in a statement. "We are thrilled to be able to impact the program and to show our appreciation for the efforts of the College.”

Lemme get this straight, Visit Frederick (a government financed program) won money from the City of Frederick (also government financed) and gave the taxpayer funded winnings to FCC (a third government financed entity). Wild!
