Running outdoor track and field for the first time, Bowie, a senior, was a double-winner at Saturday's Talley-Zimmerman Meet at Walkersville High School. He won the long jump and ran on the winning 4x200 relay team.
Brianna Walker, Oakdale, softball
With her team trailing by three in the top of the sixth, Brianna Walker hit a go-ahead grand slam to lead the Bears to a 10-7 victory over Middletown on Wednesday.
Middletown's boys lacrosse team wrapped up the CMC Gambrill Division title with a 17-5 win over Smithsburg on Friday. Meanwhile, Urbana clinched the CMC Spires Division crown with a 26-2 win over South Hagerstown on Friday. The Knights and Hawks will play for the CMC championships at 3 p.m. On Saturday at Hood College.
Walkersville's boys and Oakdale's girls outdoor track and field teams won the 59th annual Talley-Zimmerman invitational meet on Saturday.
Middletown's baseball team clinched the CMC Gambrill Division title with a 7-1 win over Boonsboro on Friday.
Frederick's softball team got its first win of the year, defeating South Hagerstown 10-7 on Thursday.
Spencer Rupinta threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Urbana's softball team in a 3-1 win over Thomas Johnson on Wednesday.
Raegan Smith hit two home runs and drove in five runs for Catoctin's softball team in a 10-0, five-inning win over Oakdale on Tuesday.
