Frederick County hospice patients between June 2017 and January 2019 may have had their information compromised, according to a press release from Frederick County Regional Health System.

An unauthorized person accessed an employee's email account through phishing. The person was able to see patient names, health care companies, health care numbers and Social Security numbers, according to the release.

At this point, the person did not appear to misuse the information, according to the release. The health system is offering credit monitoring and identity protection services for a year to eligible patients.

"Frederick Regional Health System is also advising affected patients to review the statements they receive from their health insurers. If they see services they did not receive, they should contact the health insurer immediately," according to the release.
