Two dogs bit a woman and her dog in Walkersville about a week ago.

The woman and her dog were walking along Cramer Avenue around 6:10 p.m. Jan. 27 when two dogs ran toward the woman. They appeared to come from the Sandstone Drive area. After the attack, the two dogs ran away, according to a news release from the Frederick County Health Department.

The two dogs are described as between 30 and 40 pounds each, with short hair, long legs, longer snouts and slender builds. One dog was charcoal gray, the other tan or brown. Both dogs had collars.

The Frederick County Health Department is looking for the owner or anyone with more information about the two dogs. If the dogs are found and can be quarantined and monitored for 10 days, the woman might not need to undergo rabies vaccination. The quarantine could potentially be done in an owner's home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Frederick County Animal Control at 301-600-1544.
