Saturday was the first of three pop-up street and sidewalk events in downtown Frederick. Several blocks of Market Street were closed to allow restaurants to place tables, tents and umbrellas on one of the city's busiest drags. The next installment of the pop-up event is the final Saturday in July.

I didn't realize the City had enough cash lying around to fund City Police 'just hanging out' in the last photo.

Ugh! He is doing his job providing protection, that's his job, being on station and ready to respond if needed. If not needed, he assumes his position at his post and awaits orders, provides assistance if need and/or continues to silently monitor the situation to promote public safety.

To Reporter Jillian Atelsek;

This month you have written two articles about the Frederick March for Justice. In your most recent report 14 June, titled, “‘This fight continues’: Black organizers reflect on a year of progress and pain in Frederick.”

With your photo exposé published today please solicit the groups’ opinion about which is more appropriate, your photos of last Saturday downtown or the one below? Do they have any regrets about the treatment of the previous outdoor diners?
