Provincial Muster — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15, Fort Frederick State Park, 11100 Fort Frederick Road, Big Pool. Spy Training — 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Owens Creek Campground Amphitheater, Catoctin Mountain Park, Thurmont. Join a ranger to learn about a little-known aspect of Catoctin’s history: the Office of Strategic Services (OSS, precursor to the CIA) trained here! Frederick Municipal Forest Hike — Wednesday, with the Mountain Club of Md. 11-mile loop hike starts on the Catoctin Trail’s Hamburg Road parking area and then branch off onto the trails and paths that network this forest. 443-805-5408.

Nature Walk — 3 p.m. Friday, meet at the Hog Rock parking area, Catoctin Mountain Park, Thurmont. Explore the animals, plants and trees that live in the park on this family-friendly 45-minute walk. 301-663-9388.
