The Frederick News-Post’s staff won 65 individual awards, including seven Best of Show awards, and repeated as News Organization of the Year in its division (print dailies from 20,000 to 75,000 circulation) at the annual Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association awards banquet Friday.

The awards were given for work completed in 2018, and consist of staff from the newspaper’s editorial and advertising departments.

The contest, governed by the association’s Editorial and Advertising Committees, admitted nearly 2,300 entries from 64 member publications among 95 categories, according to a news release. The Best of Show awards are given to one entry in each category among all divisions, including the Baltimore Sun and Washington Post.

“There are eight divisions in the contest, which group member publications into daily and non-daily print and online-only categories, then further group them by circulation,” according to the release.

Congratulation publishers[thumbup]. To bad there was`t a category in coping AP articles and failing to cover total happenings/news around Frederick County/City. You would of had first on that one Odens.

Congratulations to everyone. Good job.

How does they get best of show when they have the same daily editorial up for as long as 10 days?

They didn’t win best of show in the editorial category.

If the FNP got top honors, then the competition must have been pretty weak to say the least.

I agree with BunnyLou. The Frederick news post puts out fake news all the time.

Congratulations, one and all!
