Overflow parking available

in Frederick for early voting

Early voting at the Frederick County Senior Center has seen high turnout, prompting the need for overflow parking.

Voters are encouraged to use the upper back parking lot near the American Legion, 1450 Taney Ave. in Frederick, because of possible heavy voter traffic, according to a news release.

The Frederick County Senior Center is at 1440 Taney Ave. The three other early voting locations are the Thurmont Regional Library, Urbana Regional Library and Middletown Volunteer Fire Department Activities Center.

The early voting places will not be open on Election Day, Nov. 6. Frederick County residents must vote at their assigned polling place.

For more information, call the Frederick County Board of Elections at 301-600-8683.

My wife and I voted there Monday and the line was out the door. Never saw it near as crowded in past years. But the volunteers had their system running efficiently and the line moved smoothly. People were leaving as fast as they were coming in so parking spots opened up quickly when we were there. Early voting is a great idea.

Good to hear. I have never waited in line for more than a few minutes to vote. Glad people are out and active.
