Carol Krimm

Carol Krimm

State Del. Carol Krimm’s family said a medical condition caused her to miss most of the 2022 Maryland General Assembly session.

Krimm, 71, was absent from the General Assembly starting in January, shortly after the 90-day session began. Other members of the county’s delegation to Annapolis have said recently that neither they nor their offices have heard from the delegate for months.

"Kerr and other delegation members, including Sens. Ron Young, D-Frederick and Michael Hough, R-Frederick and Carroll counties, and Dels. Karen Lewis Young, D-District 3A, Barrie Ciliberti, R-District 4, and Jesse Pippy, R-District 4, all said they had not heard from Krimm since January and did not know the specific reason for her absence. Some said they heard it was related to her health." Even Karen Lewis Young, a fellow Democrat, didn't check on Del. Krimm's health and well-being? Just another day of Karen Lewis Young being, Karen Lewis Young,

Goosepoo--did you check up on her? I didn't realize that it was other delegates' responsibility. Did the FNP staff bother to report her absences; did the constituents? Del. Krimm and her staff have a responsibility to explain her absences to the taxpayers and her constituents.

She should have stepped down. Other Frederick delegates do not necessarily have her constituents best interests at heart - but sounds like most didn’t know. Lack of transparency not good (her medical issues are none of our business but the fact should was not capable of fulfilling her duties as a representative is).

Yep, like Dan Cox spending all that time in Pennsylvania conjuring up voter fraud in the last presidential election. Missing in action for his constituents in the Carroll /Frederick district.

OK. Good point.

Would be interesting to know who brought this to Jack Hogan's attention.

My first reaction as well

“Kerr said he heard from the House speaker’s office that Krimm had requested a medical leave of absence, so he coordinated with Krimm’s staff to get the bill passed.” Here is the explanation. I wish her well.

Is Ciliberti really as clueless and inept as it appears here? He is leading the Frederick County delegation?????

HappySeller2014

This lack of information and complete non-interaction with fellow members of the Frederick County delegation is not good. Reeks of malfeasance and lack of representation and respect for her constituents.

If you elected to office you held to higher standards. To completely disappear for months and months is very disappointing. Even if ill, public and constituency has a right to know.

Up for reelection? Seriously?

HappySeller2014

Correction...she did not file for reelection.

Boomer631B

she should have retired during the term since she was unable to fill her job...

Hope your boss does it to you then when you have a serious illness. FMLA is a thing, you know. So is paid sick leave.

Boomer631B

slight difference - my boss would have had proper notice before I stopped showing up for work... did she tell the voters and tax payers where she was during this absence??? That is her boss and if she has a serious illness then she should have thought about stepping down or at least informing the public as a public servant.

HappySeller2014

Greg, your comment makes NO sense. Apples and oranges, my friend.

Elected officials report to their constituents and taxpayers. To just disappear with no one knowing your whereabouts is malfeasance.

Dwasserba

She formally requested a medical leave of absence. She hasn’t needed to do this before. Maybe she didn’t do it perfectly.

Time for someone new who has the requisite good health which is needed so as to be able to attend to their responsibilities.

Yeah bad genes or whatever is no excuse. Off with her head

Why do you prefer an active and energetic liberal lawmaker to an inactive and absent liberal lawmaker? You’re not getting enough government?

Typical RRR conservative that doesn’t like worker rights or benefits. No wonder the conservatives were slave holders.
