The new Maryland Senate president, Bill Ferguson (D-Baltimore City), visited Brunswick with Sen. Michael Hough (R-Carroll and Frederick) on Monday.
It was the first time in 30 years that the Senate president visited the city, Hough said. It was also the first time for Ferguson, Hough said.
Hough gave Ferguson a tour of the city to show the problems Brunswick has, as well as the potential for growth and economic development.
Hough showed Ferguson an area where he thinks a parking garage could go. The city is “ripe for development,” he said.
Hough also wanted to point out there are areas in western Maryland that need attention, he said. Sometimes Baltimore city gets more attention than other parts of the state, he said.
