The State Highway Administration will begin a detour Monday on Md. 464 near Brunswick that will last until December, as part of a bridge replacement project.

The $4 million project to replace the bridge over Little Catoctin Creek will include making shoulders that can be used by bicyclists and pedestrians, as well as stabilizing a section of the bank of Little Catoctin Creek.

The detour for the project will include using Olive School Road to Md. 180 to Md. 17.

Because of increased traffic with the closing, SHA will install a temporary traffic signal at Olive School Road and Md. 180 until the project is completed.

"...a detour...that will last until December...." Wanna bet? It'll open late and SHA will, as always, blame the weather.
