Michael Escobar, left, and Joel Herman of East Coast Cable Solutions on Monday remove materials from the boat the company has in Carroll Creek as a part of the Sailing Through the Winter Solstice event. Herman said they have had to check on the boat almost every week due to damage done by people tampering with it. Two sections of the deck collapsed when people apparently boarded the ship. The pair parked the tire of their truck atop a metal ladder, creating a plank, from which they could safely access the ship.
