Kathleen Faye Speak, 81, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Frederick, MD, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born April 4, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Fuller Hobbs and Evelyn Jane (Pickett) Hobbs.
In previous years, Kathleen worked as a nursing assistant and also provided in home daycare for many children. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, playing bingo, and bowling.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Marty Speak, and wife, Shanon, of Clear Spring, MD; daughter, Tammy Baker, and husband, Rodney, of Herndon, VA; niece, Sharon Schad; nephew, Gary Foster; and five grandchildren, Ryan and Brent Dudley, Miranda and Logan Speak, and Lauren Speaks.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence Franklin Speak Jr. in 2008; a son, Jerry Speaks in 2010; and two sisters, Eunice Foster and Dorothy Coster.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
